Hey friends! Let me ask you this… why wait until January to feel better when you could start right now in September?
Here’s the thing, there’s never a “perfect time” to take a break from alcohol. There’s always a holiday, a birthday, or some reason to put it off. But September is actually the best time to reset. It’s back-to-routine, back-to-school season, and a chance to step into the last months of the year with strength and clarity.
The Bible says in Hebrews 12:11, ‘No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.’
Isn’t that the truth? Saying no to alcohol for 30 days may not feel easy at first but what it produces in your life is worth it: peace, freedom, and confidence.
And here’s why doing this now matters. If you wait until after the holidays, you’ll miss out on showing up this fall and holiday season with the energy, joy, and focus you really want. Imagine yourself on October 1st—feeling proud, refreshed, and already walking in that harvest of peace. That’s the gift of Sober September.
For a lot of us, this is when we realize how much our “wine o’clock” routine has crept in. The evenings feel rushed, our bodies are tired, and that glass of wine seems like the easiest way to unwind. But deep down, we wonder, is it really helping?
That’s why I love the idea of Sober September. It’s not about rules or restrictions. It’s about giving yourself a chance to step back, just for a little while, and see what life feels like with more clarity and less numbing.
Something about this month makes it easier to start fresh.
• Back-to-routine, fresh start vibe
• Reset after summer indulgence
• Strengthen immunity before cold/flu season
• Build momentum before holidays
Even 21–30 days without alcohol can make a difference. Many women notice:
• Deeper sleep (and no 3am wake-ups).
• More patience with themselves and their families.
• Less stress in the evenings.
• More energy to actually enjoy life, not just push through it.
It’s pretty amazing how quickly our bodies respond when we give them what they actually need.
Sis, this isn’t about being perfect. It’s about noticing. Every day is valuable feedback. Every choice gives you more clarity about what you truly want.
If you slip, it’s not a failure. It’s simply data. And that information helps you keep moving forward.
If you’ve been feeling stuck in the same cycle, maybe September is your chance to step into something new.
I’ve walked this road myself, and I know it helps to have tools and community around you. That’s why I created the 21 Day Reset Challenge. It’s a space where we walk through this journey together with daily guidance, encouragement, and real-life strategies to make evenings easier.
You don’t have to figure this out alone. And you don’t have to wait for January to begin again.
