It’s hard to believe summer’s winding down and the scent of freshly sharpened pencils and the excitement of new Trapper Keepers is already in the air.(ok, maybe that last reference dated me a bit-lol) Whether you're buying lunch boxes, packing backpacks, or helping your teens gear up for a new school year, this season is BUSY.
But here’s something no one talks about…
Back to school doesn’t just mean new routines for them. It’s an opportunity to reclaim structure, reset your rhythms, and ask yourself:
💭 “What do I want my evenings to look like now that the summer is over?”
For many of us, the end of the day can become a cue for wine o’clock, especially during summer when boundaries are blurry and days feel endless. But now? You’re craving something more grounding. More life-giving.
Let’s talk about what that might look like.
1. Swap the Evening Glass(es) for a Real Reset
That glass of wine might promise relaxation, but let’s be honest: it often leads to disrupted sleep, more anxiety the next morning, and a groggy mom trying to function at 6:30 AM.
What if your “unwind” ritual actually restored you?
✨ Try: A calming mocktail, magnesium chews, and/or a quiet 10-minute journal session (or just light a candle and breathe).
2. Create a ‘You Space’ After Drop-off
Once the backpacks are packed and the house gets quiet, resist the urge to dive into everyone else’s priorities.
Take 10 minutes to check in with yourself. Your needs. Your goals.
✨ Try: A walk, a daily reader (like Look Alive, Sis!), or setting a small intention for the day.
3. Start Fresh with a Like-Minded Community
